Gut Healing Gummies

If you follow me on social media then you've likely already seen this recipe but I get asked for it so often that I figured I should put it in a place that's easy for everyone to find.

One of the ingredients that we include in our daily diet is collagen. We add hydrolysate collagen (green can) to our Shakeology since it can dissolve in warm OR cold liquid. This is great if you just want to add it to your smoothies or foods but this type will not gel. If you want the type that will gel then you need gelatin collagen (orange can). This dissolves in warm liquid and solidifies into that gummy type texture so it's perfect for making snacks for the treats...or yourself, I think I love these gummies even more than Ezra does lol!

This recipe is very adaptable to your own tastes and you can change up the juices to whatever you like, it's not picky. The first time I made these I used a pure organic grape juice (not from concentrate) it was the R.W. Knudsen brand. Now I've started using this brand from Aldi which is very inexpensive. You could do cherry juice with a splash of lime juice, blueberry with grated fresh ginger. Play around with it until you find the flavor you like.

I got these adorable gummy bear molds and they are so easy to use. The gummies pop right out without sticking and they can be tossed in the dishwasher for easy cleaning. The molds only hold about a quarter of the mixture though so I just let the rest set up in a pan in the fridge then take it out and cut them up into squares. We get the larger squares and Ezra gets the bears :)

Gut Healing Gummies -1 1/2 cups Unsweetened organic juice (cherry, grape, apple, cranberry) - 1/3 cup water - 1/3 cup unflavored gelatin collagen (Use the orange can for this recipe) Bring the juice to a boil over medium heat. Meanwhile, dissolve the gelatin in the water in a separate cup. Remove the juice from the heat as soon as it reaches a boil. Whisk in the gelatin mixture. Pour into a glass loaf pan or silicone molds and chill until set.

Store in fridge. You can also incorporate pureed fruit but for now we stick to these because Ezra is a little picky about textures. Hope you enjoy these easy, healthy treats. Feel free to share!
